Modest Fashion - Hunting

Good Afternoon Everyone!

First off- I'm back! The Modest Fashion Challenge is back! Yay!

Second- I hope y'all had a very blessed Thanksgiving!

Third- I want to apologize for making everyone wait so 

very long for  me to start the fashion challenge back up! I feel

so bad about! With moving, going out of town and everyday life,

we got so incredibly busy, it wasn't even funny! But now we're back home, done moving, and back to a more normal life- Praise God! :)

 There saying, please forgive me for making y'all wait so long for this! Like I said above, I still feel so bad.

The theme today is my favorite theme, Hunting! 

I figured, since living in the Mountains, I should have a theme

that fits where I live this time of year :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

What are you thankful for? How much do you really think about it? What does Thanksgiving really mean to you? Is it just about family and friends getting together eating food and watching football? The moms going through the newspaper for their shopping the next day?  Because that's not really what it's about. Thanksgiving is a time for family (and friends) to be together and be thankful for all the things they have in life.

It's a day about remembering the Pilgrims and their feast with the Indians. I remember last year our friends were going to come over.  They had to cancel due to some colds going around in their family. My whole family was bummed, but I was the most and I was more then bummed, I was really upset. But then I was thinking, I lots to be thankful for in my family, so instead of sitting around feeling sorry for myself, I need to look on the bright side of things. 

There are lots of children who will not have any Thanksgiving today, there are children who don't  have a home or even their parents anymore. So, I need to be thankful for being able to have a home and still have a Thanksgiving with my family!

 I'm thankful for some many things, the list could go on forever. Some things that I'm really thankful for is that I have a wonderful family and parents that teach me about the Lord. I'm thankful for sweet and faithful friends who build me up and encourage me, not friends that tear me down. I'm thankful for a warm house (especially on this cold day), food to eat, a church to go to,  and many more things! There saying, I do have a lot to be thankful for!

I'm so excited to post the very first outfit day theme of our modest fashion show! Our theme today is Snow Day. Sadie and I both wore more neutral colors in our outfits. I was rushed so I quickly put together this outfit, but I hope you like it! ;)

It's Started!

Hello Everyone!  

Welcome to the first day of the Modest Fashion Challenge that Sadie and I are hosting! We are really glad to have you do this with us!


 If you read our invite posts {Here and  Here] then you got the basics of how this going to work. You get to put together an outfit, take pictures of it, post it on your blog, link it up here, and then you will get the chance to go and check out everyone else's outfits!  We figured out the link-up widget for this to make it easier for everyone- commenting would get really crazy! Sadie and I will be posting our outfits on each day's theme, as well. Sadie will be posting DIY and other tutorials on her blog and I will be posting hair tutorials on my blog.         

Here's what we're going to do-

 
Today is pretty much just the intro. This fashion challenge is running for two weeks- but you don't worry, you aren't going to be posting an outfit every single day! We thought it would be a lot easier for those who are participating in ours if they only had to post an outfit every other day. That explains why we are running it for two weeks. You are only going to be posting seven outfits, but over the time of two weeks :) So, today and every other day from now you will be doing an outfit. On those 'off' days, Sadie will be posting tutorials and other fun things. Pretty much it will will  go outfit, tutorial, outfit, tutorial, etc.

Here's the fun part you've been waiting for! We have chosen 7 different themes for our outfits. You will dress according to each theme, take the nicest pictures you can (taking them outside is usually best, as inside can look more cluttered, ect.), post them on your blog, and then link up over here! REMINDER: Those of you who don't have a blog are still encouraged to do it! Just email me the pictures and you will still be a part of it. I'll try to post your outfits on here, it just depends on how many outfits via. email we get :)

We are also working on trying to get a grand prize winner, hopefully so, but can't guarantee it! 

Once all the entries have been entered, we will then judge each outfit based on how well it matches/fits with the theme, how nice the picture looked, etc. The winner of each theme will then receive a prize! :D Some very lovely Etsy shops have been very kind to donate some prizes for each theme. Emailed entries will also be judged in the same way, just so you know!

Here is a list of the different themes and what day they will be done. You must participate in at least 3 different outfit days. 

Snow Day- Friday, 2nd
Sunday Picnic- Sunday, 4th
Fall Colors- Tuesday, 6th
-2 Week Un-Planned Break-
Hunting- Monday, 26th
Christmas Time- Thursday, 29th
On The Farm- Saturday, 1st
Make Your Own Theme- Monday, 3rd

Here's the themes:

Snow Day- Ski clothes, scarfs, mittens, boots, anything that's for winter and the snow!

Sunday Picnic-  Flowy skirts, button up shirts, picnic feeling style.

Fall Colors- Pretty much anything that looks fallish. And has the reds-goldens-browns-oranges in it.

Hunting- Camo! Plaid shirts and jean skirts!

 Christmas Time- Anything Christmas-y! Red, green, whites.... you could even do creams, reds and browns! Just make it look Christmas-y and have fun!

On The Farm- Get out your over-alls and straw hats! Have a fun, barn-yard feel to it.

Make Your Own Theme- You get to get as creative as you want! You'll have to come up with a name for it.

Please... Accessorize your outfits and have fun while doing this! :)

Here are the rules for entering:

-You must be a follower of mine or Sadie's blog.
-Please no low cut shirts unless you have a tank-top underneath.
-Please keep your skirts/dresses at the knee and below.
-Jeans are acceptable, as long kept lose.
-Please, nothing skin tight, this is a modest fashion challenge! 
-Please participate in at least 3 theme days- It can be any 3 days.

If you missed the first theme(s) and still wanted to do them, you are more then welcome to go back and add you link or email your pictures to me!

Oh, one more thing- if you are pressed for time but really want to participate, feel free to take the pictures beforehand. Do several outfits in one day and then post accordingly. This does not apply to emailing participants only because it will become too difficult to keep track of all the photos and what theme they go in.
